Formed in the mid-90s, and influenced by all kinds of DIY punkrock from all over the world and especially by American artists such as 7 Seconds, Rich Kids On LSD, Propagandhi, Good Riddance, Bad Religion, NOFX and Strike Anywhere, RENTOKILL, "Band Of The Month December" at the 2004 Europunk.net voting, is one of the few recognized upcoming austrian acts who were able to score a record contract. Their back-catalogue includes two self-released EPs, their critically acclaimed debut full-length album "back to convenience" and appearances on over 15 punk compilations including Go Kart Records' "Liberating Music", Titus Tunes 3, Europunk.net Compilation Vol.2, and Vitaminepillen Records' "Millenium Madness Vol.4".

Speaking of "back to convenience", the album got originally released through Rise Or Rust Records from Graz/Austria on CD and through Broken Heart Records from Bruck/Leitha/Austria on orange colored, transparent vinyl. Broken Heart Records is a subsidiary of the well known Austrian punkrock mailorder TEENAGE RIOT.

Due to the fact that the record got received very well by the audience and the magazines, RENTOKILL took the opportunity to switch labels and to re-release "back to convenience" through VITAMINEPILLEN RECORDS from Germany and through ENGINEER RECORDS from the UK, who also have a branch in New Jersey, US of A.

Again, writing of "back to convenience" De HEIDEROOSJES (Epitaph/I Scream) vocalist Marco Roelofs said, "The album is pretty cool. The sound is powerful, the songs are interesting. American influenced and rockin'!". Furthermore, the well known German punkrock magazine "Plastic Bomb" said that "RENTOKILL is one of the best bands coming from Austria!". Europunk.net is thrilled by the release, stating that "RENTOKILL is all about bringing fast-fuelled pumped-up anthemic punkrock with an angry attitude, yet steered in a positive direction. The 15 songs on display are all very powerful, and come across with a lot of enthusiasm, pretty much in a straight-in-your face approach. This is a tight, fast-paced but mostly an impressive debut full-length from a band who clearly have everything well under control and even find the time to try and get a political and social message across in a very positive and earnest-sounding way."

Sometime around then, RENTOKILL were able to catch the attention of Germany's leading MP3 online-platform mp3.de and got featured at their legendary HALL OF FAME for upcoming and promising bands from Germany and abroad. RENTOKILL still is their latest addition to that HALL OF FAME.

In 2005 alone, RENTOKILL did a 3-week-lasting full headlining tour across the United Kingdom, followed by a tour through Holland. In the past few years, RENTOKILL have also performed in Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy and played some festivals like the legendary "Donauinselfestival" in Vienna, No Border Jam in Maribor (Slo), The Orto Punk Festival in Ljubljana (Slo), Fat Music Festival in Germany and several smaller Festivals throughout Europe.

2006 started off really successful for RENTOKILL. they signed to In-N-Out Records to re-release "back to convenience" for the Japanese area and are working out a deal with brazils most promising punkrock label ENEMY One Records. furthermore they headed for their 2nd UK headlining tour together with PMX from Scotland, conquered Croatia and Slovenia with Austrian pals ASTPAI, rushed through Austria with longterm mates REDLIGHTSFLASH to present their new 10" Split-Release and even toured The Netherlands with ANTILLECTUAL, as well as Belgium and played the Batofar in Paris together with Strike Anywhere & The Loved Ones.

The new album titled "ANTICHORUS" was recorded in early 2006 at the Sideburn Studios in Vienna and mastered at the WEST WEST SIDE MUSIC Studios in New Jersey (US) by Alan Douches, who already worked with bands such as STRIKE ANYWHERE, TRIAL BY FIRE, GIVE UP THE GHOST and NONE MORE BLACK.

Support gigs for bands such as GOOD RIDDANCE, KILL YOUR IDOLS, DEATH BEFORE DISCO, THE SETUP, De HEIDEROOSJES, PAINT IT BLACK, NEW MEXICAN DISASTER SQUAD, ZEBRAHEAD, VENEREA, AGAINST ME!, WATERDOWN, REDLIGHTSFLASH, ANTIMANIAX, TERRORGRUPPE, SOMMERSET, FABULOUS DISASTER, HORACE PINKER, I AGAINST I, ELVIS JACKSON, ANTILLECTUAL, MULTIBALL, STRIKE ANYWHERE, THE LOVED ONES, AGAINST ALL AUTHORITY and RETCHING RED (ex Tilt) are already done. More touring plans are in the works right now.
